The Association of Southeast Asian Nations wants to cooperate with countries in the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) as it seeks to build resilience against global trade uncertainties stemming from the new U.S. tariffs.
Zafrul Aziz, Malaysia's minister of investment, trade and industry, told reporters after ASEAN's economic ministers meeting in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday that the regional bloc will hold a dialogue with CPTPP members on Nov. 20.
The talks will explore collaboration and cooperation between the two groups, which together account for a significant share of global trade, the minister said.
